There were four builders allocated plots on the north side of Chepstow Villas, east of Ledbury Road. J W Ladbroke leased Nos. 2-8 (even) to William Reynolds in 1846. In the same year, William Judd took Nos. 18-24. Nos. 10-16 were taken four years later by John Wadge.
Nos. 1-11 were built roughly opposite between 1847-9 by George Passmore, a plumber from Edgware road.
From 1847-50 William Cullingford built the ranges on either side of the street between Ledbury Road and Denbigh Road. These are Nos. 26-32 (even) on the north side and 17-23 (odd) on the south side.
Between Denbigh Road and Portobello Road, James Hall was the builder on both sides of the street. Between 1850 and 1853 he built Nos. 42-52 even on the north side and Nos. 25-33 odd on the south side.
