Henry and William Cullingford built the range of houses on the west side, Nos. 12-24. They received leases from the executors of W K Jenkins in 1853. On the east side, they also took Nos. 17-23 from the executors of Robert Hall in 1851. Nos. 9 and 11 were built in 1856-9 by J D Cowland.
