William Chadwick bought the freehold of this area. From 1848 to 1852 he built the houses at Nos. 13-59 (odd). These were generally small terraced houses, brick-faced but with stucco architraves.
A range of houses was built on the east side only, starting close to Notting Hill Gate. Nos. 2-26 even were built by William Radford and Francis Radford in 1853. Nos. 28-34 even were built by Henry Gilbert in 1854 and Nos. 36-48 even were built by William Yeo in 1854.
